How to work with local products?
How to discover heritage and work with local history?
How to organize a village festival?
How to organize a public protest?
How to organize effective meetings of inhabitants?
How to make small village a nice place to live in?

Project Happy villages - learning communities for sustainable change aims to exchange good practices, learn from each other and discover together different ways of supporting local community development. The main focus will be put on following topics: local heritage (cultural, historical and the one connected with environment), local products, self organisation and participative leadership.
Partner organisations from small local communities - villages from the Czech Republic, Poland, Spain (Galicia) and Latvia will share good practicies connected to above mentioned topics through study visits, workshops, online tools (projects websites) and as well during local activities. Local actions within the project will involve all members of participating local communities and those will be: cultural festivals, educational paths, oral history, annual meetings of the inhabitants, workshops on topics idenitfied by participants.
Project will be based on the "learning community" approach. Partner organisations will learn from each other experiences, local community members will learn during local and international activities, and will be encouraged to learn from each other.
Projects result will be a long term partnership between the organisations and local communities involved, as well as an online publication describing most effective methods supporting community development discovered and developed during the project and good practicies from different local communities. Website of the project, (in English and in languages of all partnership members) will be used as a tool of sharing our experience with others.
Visual result of project will be a "partnership bench" in each local community, created by its members, being symbolising a place where neighbours can sit and talk.

Project is supported by Grundtvig Programme (within the Life Long Learning Programe of the European Commission)
